1970’s Sound City 200 Plus Mark 4 Amplifier Head
Condition – Excellent Working condition / Cosmetic condition Very Good. Amplifier has been full serviced / All Electrolytic Caps replaced / power supply Diodes replaced / Power chord replaced / Preamp Rebuilt new parts / Phase inverter rewired to longtail design as per Marshall / Fender amps / Headphone and Slave Input Jacks Disconnected ( Useless ) / 25 turn Bias adjust pots installed / All Volume ,Tone, and Presence controls replaced / Output Jacks replaced / Standby and Boost switches replaced / Standby Light replaced with new / Install all new Preamp and Power Tubes (4x KT88’s) / Original Partridge power and output Transformers / New Mercury Magnetics Choke installed / Amp re-biased and tested sounds great. The Mark 4 series Amplifiers preamps are designed to Amplify each tone control ( Think active tone controls ). For each of the Bass, Treble, and Middle control as you turn the controls up you increase the Volume for each tone control and the Normal and Brilliant control adjust the Volume for each channel input. ( Not a master volume Controls ). Presence adds Clarity to the tone. There’s a preamp tube for each Tone Control and the Tubes cascades to the next tone control.The Tone controls Boost from Zero settings. Very Active tone controls for each Frequency range puts you in control of the tone output.
